Alford-Sullivan Announces 2021-22 Schedule for Cross Country, Track & Field

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee director of track and field/cross country Beth Alford-Sullivan has announced the program's 2020-21 competition calendar.
CROSS COUNTRY
Tennessee opens the cross country season at home with the Tennessee Dual on Friday, Sept. 3 at the Cherokee Farms Cross Country Course in Knoxville. The home meet begins at 8:30 a.m. ET and is free and open to the public.
UT will spend the remainder of the season on the road, beginning Sept. 17 at the North Alabama Invite in Huntsville, Alabama. The meet will provide the Vols and Lady Vols a preview of the NCAA South Regionals course.
The final two regular season meets take place Sept. 24 at the Roy Griak Invitational in St. Paul, Minnesota, and in Tallahassee, Florida, for the FSU Invite Oct. 15. The race in Tallahassee will give Tennessee a test run on the NCAA Championships course.
Postseason running begins Oct. 29 with the SEC Cross Country Championships in Columbia, Missouri. The NCAA South Regional Championships are scheduled for Nov. 12 in Huntsville, with the NCAA National Championships coming the following weekend in Tallahassee on Nov. 20.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD
The Vols and Lady Vols will have a busy indoor schedule and will spend several weekends in Blacksburg, Virginia, and Clemson, South Carolina. Tennessee will compete at Virginia Tech Jan. 14-15, Jan. 21-22, Feb. 4-5 and again Feb. 18-21.
UT competes at Clemson Jan. 28-29 and Feb. 11-12. Also, on Feb. 11-12, Tennessee will send a squad to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Tyson Invite.
College Station will serve as the host site of the 2022 SEC Indoor Track & Field Championships, slated for Feb. 25-26. Top-16 national qualifiers will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, for the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships March 11-12.
OUTDOOR TRACK & FIELD
Tennessee begins its outdoor campaign March 23-25 in Raleigh, North Carolina, before going to Gainesville, Florida, for the Pepsi Florida Relays April 1-2.
UT will then look to defend its home track during the Tennessee Relays, April 7-9. The Big Orange will send a group of athletes to Auburn, Alabama, the following weekend, April 15-16. Staying in Alabama, UT competes at the Crimson Tide Invite April 22-23 in Tuscaloosa.
Tennessee will have split squads going to three different meets the weekend of April 29-30, sending athletes to the LSU Invitational, Penn Relays and the Virginia Challenge. Those meets lead into UT's final meet of the regular season, the Tennessee Challenge on May 7.
Postseason outdoor track & field begins May 12-14 as the SEC returns to Oxford for the conference championships. NCAA East Preliminary qualifiers will head to Bloomington, Indiana, May 25-28, while the NCAA Outdoor Championships are contested in to Eugene, Oregon, June 8-11.
