All UT Boats Advance To NCAA C/D Semifinals On Saturday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- All of Tennessee's boats battled in their respective repechages on Friday afternoon, but finished outside of the top two, advancing to the C/D Semifinals on Saturday at the NCAA Championships in Sarasota, Fla.Â
Tennessee's 16th-seeded 1V8 finished fifth in its morning heat, making it down the course in 6:33.626. In the repechage, the boat narrowly missed a top-three finish, crossing the line half a second behind third-place Wisconsin to take fourth ahead of Duke, Navy and Rhode Island with a time of 06:34.043.Â
In its morning heat, the UT 2V8, a 13-seed, edged out Northeastern and Gonzaga to finish fourth with a time of 6:44.840. The crew also managed a fourth-place finish in its repechage, recording a time of 6:42.997 to beat Alabama, Northeastern and Rhode Island.
The Lady Vols 1V4, seeded 15th, posted a time of 7:34.082 to finish fourth ahead of Gonzaga in its morning heat. In the afternoon, the crew raced to a sixth-place finish ahead of Marist with a time of 7:40.855.

The Big Orange will be back in action on Saturday, beginning with the 1V8 C/D Semifinal at 8:24 a.m. The 2V8 will follow at 9:12 a.m., and the 1V4 will race at 9:48 a.m. Races will be available for viewing via livestream.
