KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee men's golfer Hunter Wolcott has been named second team All-SEC, the conference announced Friday.
Â
It marks the second All-SEC honor of Wolcott's Tennessee career, as he was also named second team all-conference in 2019.
Â
"I'm honored to be selected to the All-SEC team," Wolcott said. "This would not have been possible without the help of coach Webb, coach Bo (Andrews) and my teammates.
Â
"We have all collectively worked really hard this year and this is just a small accomplishment to what we hope is going to be an unforgettable year."
In his fourth season as a member of Tennessee's program, Wolcott has registered his best year yet on Rocky Top. Through the SEC Championships, the Burns, Tennessee, native has recorded a career-best 71.30 stroke average and seven top-20 finishes during the 2020-21 season, including a current streak of five in a row.
Â
During the fall, Wolcott finished inside the top 10 of two tournaments, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational. Wolcott also leads the Vols with 16 rounds of par or better this season, pushing his career total to 51—a mark that ranks fifth in program history.
"Hunter's play has been at a consistently high level all year and given our lineup a lot of stability," Webb said. "I'm very happy he has been recognized for the second time in his stellar career here as an All-SEC performer. He's certainly very deserving of this honor."
Â
The Vols have had at least one All-SEC honoree each season since head coach Brennan Webb took over the program prior to the 2018-19 season, as Wolcott earned second team honors in 2019 and 2021 and Spencer Cross and Rhys Nevin were named second team in 2020.
