Hattie Wins Platform to Cap Diving Invite
December 18, 2021 | Swimming & Diving
AUBURN, Ala. – Highlighted by a win for Bryden Hattie, three Vols finished inside the top four spots on the platform to cap the final day of the Auburn Diving Invitational on Saturday.
Â
Hattie, who is the reigning SEC champion in the event, dominated the field with a score of 419.50. That mark was 45 points higher than second place.
Â
Jacob Reasor earned a podium finish after throwing down a 343.85 to take third. Dillon Richardson came in fourth with a 318.05 score to round things out for the Vols.
Â
"Today was a good exclamation point on what has been a productive week," diving coach Dave Parrington said. "Bryden sharpened some things and came out and got the win against some great competition. Jacob continued to make impressive progress. He has some things to work on but is getting there. Dillon had a good performance and is continuing to improve as well.
Â
"From a coaching standpoint, we achieved pretty much everything I was looking for this week. We competed against quality competition, kept a positive outlook on things and are coming home with some great results. We are in a good state of mind heading into our invitational in a couple of weeks."
Â
Tennessee diving will be back in action on Jan. 3-6, as the program hosts the Tennessee Diving Invitational at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.
