December 22, 2020 | Men's Golf
MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – Tennessee men's golfers Brayden Garrison and Bryce Lewis both recorded top-10 finishes at the prestigious South Beach International Amateur this week.
Garrison navigated the 203-man field to tie for sixth-place overall, shooting 6-under 277 for the tournament.
Lewis finished tied for 10th place, shooting a four-round total of 5-under 278. Both Garrison and Lewis shot all four rounds of par or better.
Garrison and Lewis are not the first Vols to notch impressive performances during the break between Tennessee's fall and spring seasons.
Chase Roswall tied for eighth place last week at the Golfweek Streamsong Amateur, propelled by a third-round score of 9-under 63 – a score seven strokes lower than any other player in the 71-man field.
On Dec. 27, Hunter Wolcott and Spencer Cross are set to compete in the Patriot All-America Invitational in Phoenix, Arizona.
As a team, Tennessee is set to return to action Feb. 12-14 in Gainesville, Florida, at the Gators Invitational, marking the first of six tournaments that the Vols are scheduled to compete in during the spring.
