Four Vols Par or Better at JT Poston Invitational

SAPPHIRE, N.C. -- With play suspended midway through the second round of the JT Poston Invitational, four Tennessee men's golfers are par or better in the competition.
The Vols have four individuals competing in the tournament with redshirt freshmen Bryce Lewis and Jake Hall playing in their second tournament of the fall. Lewis leads all Tennessee players through the first day of competition as he was 1-under-par when play was suspended due to weather.
Lewis was one of two Vols to be under par through the first round of play. He carded an opening round 70 (-1) which included four birdies. The Hendersonville, Tennessee native is even par in his second round through four holes of play and tied for 30th on the leaderboard.
The three other Tennessee players are just one stroke back of Lewis and tied for 38th on the individual leaderboard. Redshirt junior Tyler Johnson joined Lewis with an opening round 70 (-1) with six birdies to his name. He carded a four consecutive birdies from No. 8 to No. 12 to help close out his round.
Hall spent most of the day right around even par. He nearly finished his opening round under par before a bogey on No. 15 brought him back to even for the round. Hall parred the first four holes of his second round before the suspension of play.
Senior Jake Meenhorst enters Tuesday on a heater after carding a birdie on both No. 1 and No. 2 in his second round of play. The pair of birdies bright the Auckland, New Zealand back to even par for the tournament.
Tomorrow's second round is schedule to restart at 8:30 a.m. (ET).
