Vol Sprinters Conclude Day One at Florida Relays

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Tennessee long sprinters Lenysse Dyer and Saqukine Cameron logged top-10 finishes in the women's open 200m dash to highlight UT's performances Thursday at the Pepsi Florida Relays.
Dyer posted Tennessee's best finish on the day in her home state, as the Miami native placed seventh with a wind-aided mark of 23.44 in her season 200m debut. Cameron, a JUCO transfer originally from Clarendon, Jamaica, timed a career-best wind-aided 23.54 to finish eighth out 116 total competitors.
On the men's side, true freshman Jonathan Sacoor made his outdoor collegiate debut with a wind-aided personal best in the 200m at 21.13 - placing 31st out of 119 to lead four Vols in the event.
Tennessee senior Layla White took 14th place in the women's open 400m with a season-best mark of 54.53, before Brooklynn Broadwater wrapped up Thursday's action with a time of 1:04.27 in the 400m hurdles.
Action continues from Gainesville Friday at 12:15 as Alexis Duncan and Domonique Turner compete in the college division of the 100m hurdles. SEC Network+ will provide live coverage of the meet from 1-5 p.m.
