Collins, Strother Help USA Earn Relay Golds

TORONTO, Canada — Tennessee track and field's Shania Collins and Nathan Strother both earned relay gold for the United States on Sunday to conclude the NACAC Senior Area Championships in Varsity Stadium.
Representing the U.S. for the first time, Collins ran the second leg 4x100m relay, which won in a facility-record time of 42.50 seconds.
Strother earned his second relay gold of the summer. He led off the winning 4x400m relay team (3:00.60) to complete the meet, which also set the stadium record.
Last month, Strother was part of the winning 4x400m relay team at the Athletic World Cup in London.
SCARVELIS AT THE EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS: Rising senior Stamatia Scarvelis competed at the European Championships over the weekend. Representing Greece, the reigning SEC hammer throw champion placed 15th in her signature event (67.97m/223-0).
