Five Vols finish in top 20 at Tennessee Amateur

COLLIERVILLE, Tenn. -- Five Tennessee men's golfers finished inside of the top 20 at the 103rd Tennessee State Amateur in Collierville, Tenn.
Rising junior Brayden Garrison was the top Vol on the leaderboard placing fourth in the competition after carding a 72-hole score of 287 (-3). After winning the Chattanooga Choo Choo last month, Garrison followed up with another impressive performance. He was in the final group in the final two rounds after shooting under par in the first three rounds of the tournament. He finished just three shots off of the lead.
Incoming freshman Bryce Lewis was just two shots behind Garrison as he turned in under par rounds in the final three days of the event to tie for fifth.
Spencer Cross also turned in impressive performances down in the final two rounds with rounds of 70 (-2). It helped elevate him into a tie for 12th on the leaderboard.
Right behind him was Jake Hall (+3) who tied for 16th, Michael Barnard (+4) in 19th and Hunter Wolcott (+5) who tied for 20th.Â
Each Tennessee player had at least two rounds at or below par in the amateur.
Tyler Johnson, Chase Roswall and Jet Tickle also competed at Spring Creek Ranch but, missed the cut line after round two.
