Lorenzo Scalise Wraps Up Saturday Matches At Arnold Palmer Cup

Évian-les-Bains, France – University of Tennessee graduate Lorenzo Scalise played a pair of matches for the International side on Saturday in action at the Arnold Palmer Cup at the Evian Resort Golf Club.
After the International team claimed 7.5 of the morning round's 12 points in mixed foursome matches to cut the deficit to 12.5 to 11.5, the United States claimed eight of 12 four-ball matches to extend its lead to 20.5-15.5 entering play on Sunday. Team USA needs 30 points to retain the cup, while the Internationals require 30.5 to reclaim it.
In Mixed Foursome action, Scalise, who hails from Milan, Italy, joined forces with Jiwon Jeon of South Korea. Lauren Stephenson and Braden Thornberry of the United States, however, halved Jeon and Scalise to force a draw.
In four-ball competition, the International side looked in control early in the round. The Italian pair of Stefano Mazzoli and Scalise did its part, tying the overall team score momentarily with a 4&3 victory over Thornberry and Matthew Wolff of the U.S.Â
Sunday's final round singles matches tee off at 7:30 a.m. on Nos. 1 and 10. Scalise will face American Chandler Phillips and try to card his third victory of the weekend.
