SUMMER UPDATE: July 30

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Over the summer months, seven members of the Tennessee women's golf program are playing in 12 different tournaments, including the Canadian Women's Amateur and U.S. Women's Amateur. Here's how the Lady Vols have played in recent tournaments.

California State Women's Open (July 11-12)

Location: Poway, Calif. | Maderas Golf Club | Scoring
Competitor: Waverly Whiston

Waverly Whiston tied for seventh after carding a pair of 73 (+1) in California. She finished her final eight holes of play 2-under with birdies on the par-5 14th and par-5 18th.

U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (July 18)

Ariana Macioce finished 41st after turning in a 82 (+10).

Canadian Women's Amateur Championship (July 24-27)

Location: Vancouver, BC | Marine Drive Golf Club | Scoring
Competitor: Waverly Whiston

Waverly Whiston tied for 56th in the event at 13-over-par over 72 holes of play. Whiston carded rounds at or below par in rounds one and three while finishing just one-over on the front nine for the week.

Tennessee Women's Open (July 26-28)

Competitors: Mariah Smith, Malia Stovall, Haley Wagner

Mariah Smith was the top Vol performer at the Tennessee Women's Open tying for 29th in the event. She finished with a three day total of 226 (+10) to tie Auburn's Brooke Sansom.

Malia Stovall was just two shots back of Smith at 12-over-par for the tournament. Stovall was the top Vol on the leaderboard for the first two days after shooting a pair of 75 (+3).

Like Stovall, Haley Wagner also opened the event with a 75 (+3). The rising redshirt senior finished the tournament tied for 42nd at 17-over-par.

Arizona Women's Amateur Match Play Championship (June 11-14)

Competitor: Ariana Macioce

Macioce advanced to the semi-final round of match play in the Open Division Championship Bracket after shooting the low qualifying round (74) on June 11. The Phoenix, Arizona, native won her first match, 5 and 4, before dropping the second match 2 and 3.

Women's Eastern Amateur (June 12-14)

Competitor: Allison Herring

Herring tied for 33rd place in the Women's Eastern Amateur with a 54-hole score of 248. The Skillman, New Jersey, native shot 84 in the first round and 87 in the second. She then shot 77 on the final day of the tournament to move up one spot in the standings.

Tennessee Women's Amateur (June 25-29)

Competitors: Mariah Smith, Malia Stovall, Haley Wagner

Mariah Smith claimed her first championship of the summer with a 1-up match-play win over Middle Tennessee State's Jenna Burris in the 86th annual Tennessee Women's Amateur by winning the last two holes of the tournament. Smith shot rounds of 75 and 72 for a 36-hole total of 147 to claim the No. 3-seed heading into match play. She then beat four opponents to garner a spot in the finals match.

Malia Stovall carded 154 after shooting 78 and 76 in the qualifying rounds to enter match play as the No. 14 seed. Stovall won her first match, four and three, to advance to the Round of 16 where she faced teammate Mariah Smith. Smith won the round, three and two.

Haley Wagner locked up the No. 15 seed with a 12-over 156 (78-78) in the qualifying rounds. In the Round of 32, she battled with Memphis' Sydney Colwill for 19 holes, keeping it all-square through 18 before dropping the extra hole.

Women's Western Amateur Championship (June 25-30)

Allison Herring shot 168 (82-86) in the qualifying rounds of the Women's Western Amateur Championship to finish 109th.

Ariana Macioce tied for 57th place with a 36-hole total of 153 after shooting 81 and 72 in the qualifying rounds of the tournament.

U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (July 2)

Waverly Whiston tied for 42nd place in the San Diego Women's Amateur Qualifier with a score of 77.

U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (July 9)

Location: Braselton, Ga. | Chateau Elan Golf Club | Results
Competitors: Mariah Smith, Micheala Williams

Micheala Williams carded an even-par 71 at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier in Braselton, Georgia, to tie for third place and advance to the 2018 Women's Amateur in August. Williams was one of seven players to advance from the qualifier.

Mariah Smith tied for 15th place in the qualifier, missing the cut by three strokes. She shot a 4-over 75 in the tournament.
