Webb announces addition of three signees for 2018 class

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – University of Tennessee men's golf coach Brennan Webb announced the addition of three new signees to the Vol program, Friday.
With the additions of Michael Barnard, Jake Hall and Bryce Lewis, Tennessee ink three of the top five in-state recruits according to Junior Golf Scoreboard.
"We are very excited Bryce, Jake and Michael have decided to come to the University of Tennessee," coach Webb said. "They are three of the best incoming freshmen in the country and it is a huge infusion of talent for our program.
"It is a priority of our program to recruit and sign in-state golfers who are capable of playing at the highest levels of collegiate golf. These three young men certainly fit that criteria."
Each of the three golfers rank inside of the top 100 senior recruits in the country according to Junior Golf Scoreboard.
Michael Barnard/Hendersonville, Tenn./Beech High School
• Ranks as the No. 43 overall recruit and the No. 26 recruit in the 2018 class by Junior Golf Scoreboard
• Listed as the No. 74 overall player in the Rolex AJGA Rankings and No. 28 player in the 2018 class
• Finished second at the 2017 TSSAA State Championship
• Tied for third at the Tennessee Junior AM and was third at the 2017 Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship
• Placed fifth at the 2017 Junior PGA Championship
• Earned MVP honors for Team East at the 2017 Tennessee Junior Cup
Jake Hall/Knoxville, Tenn./Halls High School
• Ranks as the No. 166 overall recruit and No. 66 recruit in the 2018 class by Junior Golf Scoreboard
• Helped Halls High School to 2017 State Championship team
• Earned medalist honors at the 2017 TSSAA State Tournament
• Tied for fifth at the 2017 AJGA City of London Junior Championship
• Finished third at the 2017 TGA Boys Junior Amateur
• Holds the course record holder at Beavorbrook GC with a round of 60
Bryce Lewis/Hendersonville, Tenn./Hendersonville High School
• Ranks as the No. 78 overall recruit and the No. 43 recruit in the 2018 class by Junior Golf Scoreboard
• Qualified for the 2017 USGA Amateur Championship at Riveria CC
• Claimed the 2016 Tennessean Schooldays Championship
• Won the 2017 Under Armour/Scott Stallings Championship by setting the tournament scoring record
• Took home the 2017 Tennessee Junior PGA Championship
