Scalise named as GCAA All-American Scholar

NORMAN, Okla. -- University of Tennessee graduate Lorenzo Scalise was named a Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America, Wednesday.
To be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Additionally, Scalise earned SEC Academic Honor Roll accolades for four straight seasons while also receiving a UT Chancellor's Honors recipient for Extraordinary Academic Achievement and the Scholar Athlete Award.
Scalise completed his four-year Tennessee career with 26 individual top-25 finishes, 13 top-10 outcomes and nine top-five results. His senior alone, he tallied seven top-five finishes, including his first career victory at the Yale Spring Invitational. The team captain helped the Vols card seven top-five team finishes in 2017-18, including victories at the East Bay Deli Classic and Yale Spring Invitational.

His 72.11 career stroke average ranks No. 2 in UT history, as does his total of 66 rounds of par or better.
