Vols Merit GCAA 18Birdies Academic Honors

NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Tennessee men's golf team has earned a Golf Coaches Association of America 18Birdies Team Academic Award, the GCAA announced on Friday.
UT is one of a record 222 teams submitting GPAs of 3.00 or higher to earn 18Birdies All-Academic Team recognition. All 10 members of the 2017-18 Volunteer squad were named to the SEC Spring or First-Year Academic Honor Rolls for their work in the classroom.
"18Birdies is proud of the work these programs have accomplished off the course and to present this year's Team Academic Awards," said 18Birdies' Founder and CEO, Eddy Lui. "We'll continue to support the next generation of golfers as we know they will be the next leading voice to grow the game."
To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
The 2017-18 UT squad included senior Lorenzo Scalise;Â junior Felipe Strobach;Â redshirt sophomore Nolan Ray;Â sophomores Brayden Garrison, Jake Meenhorst, Rhys Nevin and Hunter Wolcott; redshirt freshman Sean Wilcox and true freshmen Spencer Cross and Chase Roswall.
