KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee will head south again this weekend, this time for the 40th annual 3M Augusta Invitational in Augusta, Ga.
The tournament will be played on Saturday and Sunday at Forest Hills Golf Club, a 7,005-yard, par-72 course. The Vols will tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, playing 36 holes over the course of the day. Sunday's tee times for the remaining 18 holes will be determined after Saturday's play.
This year's 15-team field features the host school Augusta, along with No. 16 Illinois, No. 19 UCLA, UCF, Georgia State, Houston, Kennesaw State, Marquette, Navy, New Mexico, South Carolina, South Carolina-Aiken, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
This season's appearance at the tournament marks the fifth straight year that Tennessee has competed in the event.
Tennessee enters the tourney coming off a 10th-place finish at the John Hayt Invitational.
Lorenzo Scalise took fifth place at 5-under 211, his sixth career top-five finish. Brayden Garrison notched a second straight top-20 finish, tying for 20th place (1-over 217).

- The Vols won the tournament as a team in 2002, while David Skinns took the individual title at 13-under 203.
- More recently, Tennessee finished as runner-up at the tournament in 2011.
- Other notable Vol performances at the 3M Augusta Invitational include an individual title by Stuart Smith in 1981 and a second-place finish by Chad Merzbacher in 2016.
- Last season, Tennessee finished in 12th place (4-over 868). Lorenzo Scalise was the Vols' highest finishing individual, tying for 19th overall (3-under 213).
- Vols senior Lorenzo Scalise continued his strong spring with another top-five finish at the John Hayt Invitational.
- Scalise's fifth-place finish at the John Hayt Invitational was his fifth career top-five finish, while his two rounds of par or better brought his season total to a team-leading 17.
- Scalise leads Tennessee in several categories, including percentage of rounds counted (95.24), rounds in the 60s (8) and average strokes per round (70.43). Scalise's strokes per round mark ranks 10th in the SEC.
- Sophomore Brayden Garrison has registered two straight top-20 finishes and given the Vols their second best individual score in each of the past two tournaments.
- Garrison came finished in a tie for 12th place at the Southwestern Invitational on Feb. 27 and followed that performance up with a tie for 20th place at the John Hayt Invitational.
- Each of the past nine of Garrison's rounds has counted, dating back to the spring-opening Sea Best Invitational.
- Garrison is tied with redshirt freshman Sean Wilcox for the second most top-25 finishes on the team with four (Lorenzo Scalise leads the team with six).
- Tennessee's freshmen trio of Sean Wilcox (redshirt freshman), Spencer Cross, and Chase Roswall have continued a strong inaugural campaign, with 19 rounds of par or better and four top-10 finishes between them. The freshmen have had a combined 67 percent of their rounds counted during the fall and spring seasons.
- Four Vols are among the top 300 in the Golfweek Men's Collegiate Individual Rankings: Lorenzo Scalise (22nd, 69.26 rating), Rhys Nevin (132nd, 70.87), Brayden Garrison (259th, 71.75) and Sean Wilcox (291st, 71.98).
