KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee men's golf team will travel to the West Coast next week for its third tournament of the spring season, the 39th annual Southwestern Invitational.

The tournament will be played on Feb. 26 (Monday) and 27Â (Tuesday) at North Ranch Country Club on the 6,992-yard, par-72 Lakes & Oaks Course in Westlake Village, Calif., just outside of Los Angeles. The Vols will tee off at 10:30 a.m. Eastern on Monday and 10:45 a.m. ET on Tuesday.

The 15-team field for the tournament includes the host school Pepperdine, along with No. 24 UCLA, Augusta, Denver, Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount, Michigan, New Mexico, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, SMU, UC Davis, and Washington State.

Tennessee is no stranger to the Southwestern Invitational, as the Vols won the tournament in 2005 (then called the Ashworth Collegiate Invitational and hosted by USC).

Tennessee will enter the tournament coming off of a 12th-place finish at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. Lorenzo Scalise led the Vols, tying for 18th place at 3-under par. Competing individually, true freshman Chase Roswall also turned in an impressive performance, finishing even par and tying for 33rd place.

Tennessee's Lineup Tennessee's History at the Southwestern Invitational
- This season's appearance in the Southwestern Invitational will be Tennessee's fifth since the 2004-05 season.
- In its 2005 appearance, Tennessee won the tournament, posting a three-round score of 8-under 852 (284-279-289) to come out on top of the 15-team field.
- The Vols also appeared in the tournament in 2006, 2007 and 2008, placing seventh, third and second, respectively.
- Vols senior Lorenzo Scalise continued his strong spring with another solid showing at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate.
- Scalise's 18th-place finish at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate was his 17th career top-20 finish and his two rounds of par or better brought his season total to a team-leading 12.
- Scalise leads Tennessee in several categories, including top-five finishes (3), percentage of rounds counted (93.33) and average strokes per round (70.60 overall, 69.67 in the spring).Â
- Tennessee head coach Jim Kelson, in his 20th season at UT, currently sits at 1,996-1,389-55 in his time coaching the Vols.
- With the 15-team field in the Southwestern Invitational, Kelson will have an opportunity to capture 2,000 wins at Tennessee in the tournament.
- Kelson is aided by third-year director of instruction/player development Sean Pacetti.Â
- Competing as an individual at the University of Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate, true freshman Chase Roswall carded his second-best score at Tennessee, finishing even par through three rounds (75-74-67--216). Roswall's 5-under score during round three was tied for the eighth-best round of any golfer during day three.
- Tennessee's freshmen trio of Sean Wilcox (redshirt freshman), Spencer Cross and Chase Roswall have continued a strong inaugural campaign, with 18 rounds of par or better and four top-10 finishes between them.
- Three Vols are among the top 200 in the Golfweek Men's Collegiate Individual Rankings. The group includes Lorenzo Scalise (55th, 69.79 rating), Rhys Nevin (94th, 70.34), and Sean Wilcox (187th, 71.13).Â
