COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Tennessee junior Meghan Small and Olympian Molly Hannis will represent Team USA at the 2019 Pan American Games, USA Swimming announced Tuesday.
Small (Lineboro, Md.) is set to compete in 200 individual medley, and Hannis (Santa Rosa, Calif.) will be entered in the 100 breaststroke.
The Pan American Games will be held Aug. 6-10 in Lima, Peru.
Small is a seven-time All-American for the Lady Vols and has accounted for six medals at the SEC Championships, including gold as a freshman in the 200-yard IM. She currently holds two school records: the 200 backstroke (1:51.91) and the 200 IM (1:53.05). This is her second Pan Am Games roster; she was on the 2015 team while still in high school.
Since wrapping up her Tennessee career in 2015, Hannis has continued training in Knoxville. She qualified for the 2016 Rio Games, competing for Team USA in the 200 breaststroke. She has been a consistent breaststroker on the national and international stage ever since. At the Phillips 66 National Championships in July, she placed second in the 50 breaststroke (30.07) and fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.36).
