Wright Inducted into Chicago HS Hall of Fame

CHICAGO — Tennessee diving great Michael Wright was inducted into Saint Patrick High School's Shamrock Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Wright was a member of the Tennessee Volunteers' roster from 2009-11, serving as team captain as a senior. He won the 2011 SEC 1-meter diving championship. Before joining the Vols, he was the NJCAA National Diver of the Year.
In 2010, he won the 1-meter title at the USA Diving Winter National Championships. He concluded his competitive career in 2012, placing 12th on 3-meter springboard a the U.S. Olympic Trials.
Wright has remained an active member of the diving community since graduation. He serves as head coach and program director for Tennessee Diving, Knoxville's competitive club.
Outside of diving, Wright has achieved television notoriety by appearing as the "Speedo Ninja" on American Ninja Warrior. Clad in an orange-and-white checkerboard Speedo suit, Wright advanced to the Las Vegas finals earlier this year.
