SWIM & DIVE CENTRAL: Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee swimming and diving team concludes its fall schedule this weekend with the three-day Tennessee Invitational at Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

The championship-style meet runs Thursday through Saturday with preliminary sessions beginning at 10 a.m. and finals at 6 p.m. The first two days of the meet will feature a diving final at 5 p.m., and platform diving finals will be Saturday at 1 p.m. Admission is free to all sessions. PARTICIPATING TEAMS: Tennessee, Denver, Duke, Penn, Penn State and Carson-Newman (swimming only). The Vols enter the meet ranked ninth nationally in the CSCAA/TYR Top 26 and the Lady Vols are ninth. Duke's women are also nationally ranked (No. 16) as are both of Carson-Newman's teams among NCAA Division II programs.

LAST TIME: Tennessee's full swimming and diving squad was last in action for a double-dual meet Nov. 9. The Tennessee women (4-1) were propelled by Erika Brown's second consecutive three-win performance this season. The Lady Vols won a season-high 13 of 16 events to defeat Auburn 197-103. The Vols split in their meet, upending Auburn 233-66 and narrowly losing to defending champion Texas, 156.5-143.5.

DIVING AWARDS: The diving squad was in action at the Texas Diving Invitational (Nov. 14-16) and was again led by Zhipeng (Colin) Zeng. The defending national diver of the year won the 1-meter springboard, placed second on platform and took eighth on platform. He earned SEC Diver of the Week accolades for a third time this season.
