Riley, Staines Fall in Main Draw Doubles at ITA All-American Championships

PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. – Ariadna Riley and Kaitlin Staines dropped a close match in the first round of the ITA All-American Championships main draw doubles on Thursday.

The duo fell to Kansas's Nina Khmelnitckaia and Janet Koch, 8-6, at Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Riley and Staines return to action on Friday at 12 p.m. ET in the main draw double backdraw against North Carolina's Sara Daavettila and Alle Sanford.

Riley and Staines are Tennessee's first doubles pair to compete in the ITA All-American doubles main draw since 2012.

Following the conclusion of the ITA All-American Championships, the Lady Vols return to action at the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships, which kick off on Friday, Oct. 12 and run until Oct. 14 in Chattanooga.
