SUMMER UPDATE: Newell Competes at the Canadian Women's Amateur

Canadian Women's Amateur (July 24-28)
- Location: Toronto, Canada | Cutten Fields
- Competitor: Anna Newell
Newell tied for 23rd place at the Canadian Women's Amateur Championship on July 25-28 to close out her summer tournament schedule. She carded a 72-hole score of 291, including an even-par 70 in the second round of the tournament.
Tennessee Women's Open (July 27-29)
- Location: Fairfield Glade, Tenn. | Stonehenge Golf Club
- Competitor: Haley Wagner
Wagner closed out her summer tournament schedule at the Tennessee Women's Open with a score of 238. She tied for 54th place.
- Competitor: Blakesly Warren
In her final tournament of the summer, Warren shot 224 (+8) to finish the Tennessee Women's Open in 12th place. She carded a one-under 71 in the first round.
- Competitor: Micheala Williams
Williams finished just one stroke behind Warren with a score of 225 (+9), tying for 13th place. She shot two-under-par in the second round to enter Day Three with a score of 150.
New Jersey State Women's Amateur (August 1-4)
- Location: Bernardsville, N.J. | Somerset Hills Country Club
- Competitors: Allison Herring

U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball (May 27-31)
- Location: Myrtle Beach, S.C. | The Dunes Golf and Beach Club
- Competitor: Waverly Whiston
Incoming freshman Whiston tied for 31st place in the stroke play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball after winning a two-hole playoff. Whiston then dropped her match, two and four, in the Round of 32.
U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier (June 5)
- Location: Braselton, Ga. | Chateau Elan Golf Club
- Competitor: Blakesly Warren
Warren shot rounds of 77 and 73 in the U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier for a 36-hole total of 150 (+6), placing fifth in the tournament.
U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier (June 7)
- Location: St. Louis, Mo. | Bogey Hills Country Club
- Competitor: Micheala Williams
Alabama native Williams tied for ninth place in the U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier with a six-over 148. She carded 76 and 72 in the par-71 event.
Tennessee Women's Amateur (June 12-16)
- Location: Collierville, Tenn. | Memphis National Golf Course
- Competitor: Haley Wagner
In the Tennessee Women's Amateur, Wagner earned a bye in the Round of 32 to advance to the Round of 16. She dropped the match, three and two, to Tennessee Tech's Arianna Clemmer. Wagner will be back in action on June 27 in the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier at Ansley Golf Club in Roswell, Georgia.
Western Women's Amateur (June 12-17)
- Location: Elmhurst, Ill. | River Forest Country Club
- Competitor: Allison Herring
Herring carded a one-over 37 on the back nine of the opening round of the Western Women's Amateur en route to shooting 82. She then recorded 78 on Day Two of the event to finish the qualifying rounds with a 16-over 160. The New Jersey native advanced to the Round of 16 in the First Flight, going on to win nine holes of match play before being defeated in a play-off. Herring will be back in action on July 11 in the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier at the Kenwood Golf and Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland.
U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier (June 12)
- Location: Bradenton, Fla. | Bradenton Country Club
- Competitor: Anna Newell
Newell placed fourth in the Bradenton U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier with a score of 146 (+2). The Florida native shot rounds of 74 and 72 in the one-day tournament. Newell will be back in action on June 30 in the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier at Mission Inn Resort in Howey in the Hills, Florida.
Alabama Women's State Amateur Championship (June 21-23)
- Location: Montgomery, Ala. | Montgomery Country Club
- Competitor: Micheala Williams
Williams placed third in the stroke play portion of the Alabama Women's State Amateur Championship with a one-over 70. In the Round of 16 match, she beat her opponent, three and one, before taking her quarterfinal match, one up. The Athens, Alabama native then advanced to the final round after winning her semifinal match, two and one. Williams dropped the final to Montevallo's Elaine Wood, finishing runner-up.
U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (June 27)
- Location: Roswell, Ga. | Ansley Golf Club
- Competitor: Haley Wagner
Wagner tied for 21st place at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier, shooting 79 (+7) on the 6,341-yard Settindown Creek Course at Ansley Golf Club. She will compete next on July 27-29 in the Tennessee Women's Open with four other Vols.
- Competitor: Blakesly Warren
Warren carded a four-over 76 en route to tying for 11th place at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier held in Roswell, Ga. last week. Next week (July 10-14), she is competing in the Women's North and South Championship in Pinehurst, N.C.
U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (June 30)
- Location: Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. | Mission Inn Resort
- Competitor: Anna Newell
Newell shot 77 (+5) and tied for 16th place on the El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla on Friday. She will be back in action on July 24-28 in the Canadian Women's Amateur.
U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (July 6)
- Location: Advance, N.C. | Bermuda Run Country Club
- Competitor: Micheala Williams
Williams tied for eighth place at the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier in Advance, N.C., last week. The Alabama native shot 75 (+3), just missing the cut.
U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier (July 11)
- Location: Bethesda, Md. | Kenwood Golf and Country Club
- Competitor: Allison Herring
Herring placed 32nd with a score of 82 in the U.S. Women's Amateur Qualifier on the 6,051-yard Kenwood course. Herring will round out her summer tournament slate at the New Jersey State Women's Amateur on August 1-4.
Women's North and South Championship (July 10-14)
- Location: Pinehurst, N.C. | Pinehurst
- Competitor: Blakesly Warren
Warren shot rounds of 85 and 82 in the 114th Women's North and South Championship in Pinehurst, N.C. She will be back in action on July 27-29 as she competes in the Tennessee Women's Open with four other members of the 2017-18 squad.
Alabama State Stroke Play Championship (July 12-14)
- Location: Tuscaloosa, Ala. | North River Yacht Club
- Competitor: Micheala Williams
Williams placed fourth in the 27th Alabama Women's Stroke Play Championship hosted at North River Yacht Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The Athens, Ala., native shot 221 (74-75-72) to finish the tournament eight-over-par. Williams next competes in the Tennessee Women's Open on July 27-29 with four other members of the 2017-18 squad.
