Tennessee men's golf alum Michael Nagy has posted two professional wins in 10 days
BOYNE FALLS, Mich. -- VFL and Tennessee men's golf alum Michael Nagy earned his second professional win in just two weeks on Wednesday when he finished at 15-under in the Michigan PGA Tournament of Champions at Boyne Mountain.
Nagy hoisted the Walter Burkemo Trophy after he enjoyed a one-stroke victory over Joey Garber. Nagy shot 67-68-66--201 (-15) and withstood a late charge by Garber, who shot 68-70-64--202 (-14) and birdied six holes on the back nine on Wednesday. Nagy played an outstanding 54 holes, posting 17 birdies and 35 pars to just two bogeys.
Nagy's victory in the PGA Michigan Tournament of Champions came just 10 days after he won the Western Corporate Image Pro-Am at Moccasin Creek Country Club (Aberdeen, South Dakota). He won that event by two strokes, finishing at 14-under 202 on July 23 and collecting a $16,000 first-place prize.
