Vol Sophomore Posts Pair Of Top-Three Finishes
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – University of Tennessee golfer Jake Meenhorst has enjoyed a successful summer on the links in his home country, recording a pair of top-three tournament finishes in August.
The Vol sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand, started the month with a runner-up showing at the Classic Builders Cambridge Classic at Cambridge Golf Club on Aug. 4-6. He fired a final-round 66 to finish with a 9-under-par score of 279, just one shot back of the winner.
On Aug. 11-13, Meenhorst earned a share of third place in the North Harbour Stroke Play Championship at Omaha Beach Golf Club. After carding an opening-round 75, the UT golfer rebounded with scores of 68, 66 and 68 over the final three rounds to finish 3-under at 277.
