SUMMER UPDATE: Warren, Williams Compete in Open Qualifiers

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Over the summer months, eight members of the Tennessee women's golf program are set to play in 18 different tournaments, ranging from the Canadian Women's Amateur to U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifiers, where Blakesly Warren and Micheala Williams recently placed in the top-10 in their respective tournaments.

U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier (June 5)

Location: Braselton, Ga. | Chateau Elan Golf Club
Competitor: Blakesly Warren

Warren shot rounds of 77 and 73 in the U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier for a 36-hole total of 150 (+6), placing fifth in the tournament.

U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier (June 7)

Location: St. Louis, Mo. | Bogey Hills Country Club
Competitor: Micheala Williams

Alabama native Williams tied for ninth place in the U.S. Women's Open Sectional Qualifier with a six-over 148. She carded 76 and 72 in the par-71 event.

Incoming freshman Whiston tied for 31st place in the stroke play portion of the U.S. Women's Amateur Four-Ball after winning a two-hole playoff. Whiston then dropped her match, two and four, in the Round of 32.
