SURREY, England -- Tennessee's Lorenzo Scalise is tied for 19th place at 5-under after the first 36 holes of the 2017 European Amateur Championship at Walton Heath Golf Club.
Scalise shot 3-over 75 in Thursday's second round with birdies on the third, 11th, 13th and 16th holes.
Spain's Victor Pastor, Switzerland's Jeremy Freiburghaus and Australia's Dylan Perry lead the 144-player field at 9-under.
Scalise will begin Friday's third round from the first tee at 3:26 p.m. GMT.
The 2017 European Amateur Championship runs from June 28 through July 1. The entire 72-hole stroke-play event is taking place at Walton Heath Golf Club's Old Course.
