The Volunteers enter the Tuesday matchup with a 26-22 overall record (7-18 SEC) after dropping three games to No. 8-ranked Kentucky in Lexington last week. Prior to the weekend series against the Cats, Tennessee recorded back-to-back wins in midweek action versus Belmont and Eastern Kentucky.
Over the five games, three Vols knocked their first career home runs including: senior Max Bartlett and freshmen twin brothers Andre Lipcius and Luc Lipcius.

- With an 11-8 win over Jacksonville State on May 6, the Eagles secured the program's third consecutive 30-win season. Prior to 2015, Morehead State had only had one 30-win season (1993 with 31 wins).
- Sophomore outfielder Niko Hulsizer leads the OVC in home runs (24), hits (79), RBI (73), slugging percentage (.814) and total bases (175). His 24 homers, 175 total bases and 73 runs batted in also lead the nation. Junior third baseman Eli Boggess leads the Ohio Valley Conference and the nation in batting average at .428.
- On the mound, the Eagles are led by Aaron Leasher. The junior owns a 4.54 ERA and a team-high seven wins through 13 appearances.
2017 Con-GRAD-ulating Vols
- Five active members of UT's roster and two student assistant coaches received their degrees from the University of Tennessee during commencement ceremonies last week: Max Bartlett, Jon Lipinski, Matt Waldren, Eric Freeman, Quint Robinson along with VFLs Taylor Smart and Steven Gruver.
- Baseball recorded its highest multi-year APR with a 979, which is up 14 points from last year and 45 points from three years ago, when it was at 934.
- Among the graduates, Eric Freeman received 2016-17 CoSIDA Academic All-District honors as he boasts a 3.91 cumulative GPA while pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and acceptance into medical school.
- First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.

Friday (5/12)
- Tennessee fell behind early in its series opener at No. 8-ranked Kentucky and could not recover, as the Wildcats ran away with a 15-5 victory on Friday night.
- Providing UT's first run of the night, redshirt senior Jeff Moberg was 1-for-1 with two walks and a solo home run, his eighth of the year.
- Andre Lipcius recorded UT's lone multi-hit game with a 2-for-4, 2 RBI effort.
- Senior Hunter Martin went 3.2 innings, his shortest start of the year, and allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 10 hits for the loss.
Saturday (5/13)
- A solo home run from freshman Andre Lipcius gave the Volunteers an early lead over No. 8-ranked Kentucky, but the Wildcats came back to take an 8-3 win on Saturday and clinch the weekend series at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
- Freshman Garrett Stallings was charged with the loss in his seventh start of the year, surrendering six runs on eight hits over 2.1 innings of work.
- With two home runs on Saturday at Kentucky, the Vols recorded their fifth multi-homer game of the season, most-recently having also knocked two against Belmont on May 9.
Sunday (5/14)
- In the series finale against No.8-ranked Kentucky, Tennessee fell behind early and struggled to catch up as the Wildcats took a 7-2 win on Sunday.
- Zach Warren struggled in his 11th start of the year, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits over 2.1 innings.
- At the plate, freshmen Justin Ammons (2-for-5) and Luc Lipcius (2-for-5) each recorded multi-hit games, while Matt Waldren and Max Bartlett brought in UT's two runs.

- Tennessee is 19-4 in non-conference action this season, including a 6-0 mark during games played on Wednesdays.
- Walk This Way: Over five games last week, Pete Derkay extended his team-leading walk count to 37. He is tied for third in the SEC with 37 free passes on the year.
- Rodger(s) That: Senior Jordan Rodgers owns a team-best 18 multi-hit games this season and leads the Volunteers' offense in batting average (.344), hits (65), home runs (9), RBI (34) and slugging percentage (.550).
- More on Martin...: Senior Hunter Martin ranks tied for second in the SEC with 31 batters stuck out looking as well as fifth with 83.2 innings pitched on the year. With his complete game effort on April 28 at Vanderbilt, Martin posted his third complete game of the year. He is the first UT pitcher to record multiple complete games (3) in a single season since Zack Godley did so in 2013 (6).
- The Vols have combined for 119 extra-base hits this year, including 31 home runs (already surpassing 2016's complete season total 21).
- The Vols' 2017 roster boasts 17 newcomers including 14 true freshmen, two JUCO transfers and one graduate transfer.
- Despite losing seven positional starters from the 2016 season, UT returns 18 lettermen including six true seniors.
Freeman: SEC Community Service Honors
- Eric Freeman has been named one of the 2016-17 Brad Davis Southeastern Conference Community Service Leaders of the Year, as announced by Commissioner Greg Sankey and the league office on May 3.
- Freeman was chosen by a committee of faculty athletics representatives from SEC universities and will receive a $10,000 post-graduate scholarship, provided by the SEC.
