WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Rhys Nevin is tied for third place after carding a 1-under 69 and the Tennessee men's golf team is in third place at 6-over following Sunday's first round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at Kingsmill Resort.

After inclement weather resulted in a delayed start to the first round, the Vols combined to shoot 6-over 286. Tennessee is just six strokes back of Louisville, which stands in first place at even-par 280. Penn State is in second place at 3-over 283.
UT has two players in the top 10. Nevin is one stroke back of Louisville's Nicolas Platret and Keegan de Lange, who each shot 2-under 68. Nevin made birdies on the fourth, seventh and 15th holes.
Redshirt freshman Nolan Ray, is tied for sixth after shooting even-par 70. He posted birdies on the seventh, ninth and 15th holes.
Freshman Jake Meenhorst is tied for 12th at 2-over 72. He is tied for second in the 120-player field with 14 pars. Junior Lorenzo Scalise and freshman Brayden Garrison, who is competing as an individual, are tied for 36th at 5-over 75. Freshman Hunter Wolcott is tied for 83rd at 9-over 79.
Monday's second round will begin at 8:30 a.m. ET.
