Getting to Know Emmie
2013-17 | Brighton, Mich.
Senior Emmie Pietila will see action for the first time this season as an individual in the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. Pietila did not compete in the fall due to an injury.
As a junior, Pietila played in eight tournaments, carding a career-low 66 in the second round of the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. She also shot her best tournament score (208) at the same event to tie for 13th place.
During her 2014-15 campaign, Pietila recorded a career-best finish at the Lady Bulldog Individual. She shot scores of 73-75 in the 36-hole event to place second. Pietila went on to card three more top-25 finishes that season, including a team-leading fourth place finish at the NCAA San Antonio Regional. Pietila broke par all three days of the tournament (69-69-71) in a very competitive field to send Tennessee to its first NCAA Championship since 2012.
A transfer from Eastern Michigan, Pietila sat out the 2012-13 season before playing in seven tournaments for the Vols in 2013-14.
