Swim & Dive Central: Tennessee Invitational

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee swimming and diving team will host six other programs for the three-day Tennessee Invitational beginning Thursday at Allan Jones Aquatic Center.Â
Swimming prelims begin each morning at 10 a.m. with finals at 6 p.m. On Thursday and Friday, diving prelims will begin at noon and the 1-meter diving final will start before the night session at 5 p.m. The platform diving competition is Saturday at noon. Admission is free to all sessions. Please note the campus-wise clear bag policy at athletics events will be in effect.Â
Visiting schools include: Duke, North Carolina, Denver, Marshall, Penn and Carson-Newman.Â
This championship-style meet marks the end of the collegiate competition for the semester for the Tennessee swimmers. The diving squad will participate in the Auburn Diving Invitational next month.Â
The Tennessee women returned to the top 10 of the CSCAA national top-25 poll after a 5-1 start to the season. The Tennessee men are ranked 15th after also opening the dual meet schedule 5-1.Â
The Volunteer squad last competed Oct. 14, sweeping Louisville on the road in the men's and women's competition. Junior diver Colin Zeng was named the SEC Diver of the Week for a third time after winning both springboard events, and sophomore Tess Cieplucha was the SEC Swimmer of the Week for the first time in her career. Â
