Vols T4 In Rd 1 Of Jackrabbit Invitational

VALENTINE, Nev. -- Tennessee took the field at the Jackrabbit Invitational on Sunday before high winds and frost delayed round one. Play resumed on Monday morning and came to a conclusion at dark, with round one completed for all teams and round two started. Resumption of play for round two will begin at 8:30 a.m. CT on Tuesday.
Tennessee shot 1-under 287 in the first round. The Vols tied for fourth with five out of six members placing within the top 20. Three Vols are in the running for most birdies in the event.
Junior Lorenzo Scalise led the Vols in the first round with a low 9-under 63. Scalise carded five birdies and tied for sixth.
Juan Carlos Serrano Guevara carded four birdies, shot even par, and tied for 12th. Freshman Brayden Garrison joined Senior Jack Smith in a tie for 18th as both players shot 1-over and collected three birdies in the first round.
Smith and Freshman Hunter Wolcott are in the running for most pars in the tournament. Wolcott shot 4-over 76 and placed T41.
Freshman Rhys Nevin-Wharton competed as an individual and shot even par, tying for 12th.
