KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- No. 23 Tennessee will compete in the 2016 Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Red Sky Ranch Golf Club in in Vail, Colo., from Monday, September 26 through Wednesday, September 28.

The field includes 18 teams from 18 different conferences. Only two teams, No. 23 Tennessee and No. 29 Pepperdine were ranked in Golfweek's preseason top 30.
Tennessee junior Anna Newell is the only player in the field ranked in Golfweek's preseason top 30 player list. She enters the tournament as the No. 11-ranked player in the country.

Tournament Format
The Golfweek Conference Challenge will be played on Monday, Sept. 26 through Wednesday, Sept. 28 in an 18-18-18 format.
Round one will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET on Monday, Sept. 26 from the No. 1 and No. 10 tee boxes.
On Tuesday, Sept. 27, the second round will begin at 12:00 p.m. ET from holes one and ten.
The final round of the tournament will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 28 at 11:00 a.m. ET in a shotgun start. The awards presentation will immediately follow the round.
Tournament History
- The Golfweek Conference Challenge features teams from the MWC, SEC, Big South, Big 12, Big West, Summit, Pac-12, WCC, C-USA, Big Ten, WAC, Big Sky, MAC, Sun Belt, MVC, Southland, AAC and Colonial conferences.
- The Vols will be competing in the tournament for the third time (2010 and 2014).
- In the 2010 tournament, Tennessee placed fifth out of 18 teams with an overall score of 894.
- Facing a field of 17 teams in 2014, the Vols took second place with a score of 863.
