September 16, 2016 | Men's Golf

PARCO REALE DI MONZA, Italy -- Vol Golf's Lorenzo Scalise returned to his home course for the Italian Open where VFL Chris Paisley is in the lead during round two on Friday, Sept. 16.
A total of five hours were lost on Thursday due to heavy rains causing many to resume play on Friday. Thunderstorms occurred early in the morning on Friday resulting in a suspension of play.
At the 2015 event, Scalise shot 16-under 272 setting the record for highest finish in the tournament since 1972, currently tied 13th by Francesco Molinari in 2004.
This year, Scalise posted 2-under 69 and shot four birdies in the first round. Scalise is tied for 53rd in the event.
Paisley is on the path of capturing his first European Tour win. After shooting 8-under 66 in the first round, Paisley returned on the second day carding five birdies and was at 10-under through 13 holes before the weather delay. Paisley is holding the lead ahead of Masters champion Danny Willett.
Play will resume at 7:30 a.m. local time on Saturday.
