Vols Add Haley Wagner to 2016-17 Squad

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Haley Wagner, a junior-transfer from Samford University in Homewood, Ala., has signed to play golf at Tennessee, Volunteer head coach Judi Pavon announced Friday.
"I'm excited about having Haley join our team this fall," said Head Coach Judi Pavon. "She is a powerful player with a fun personality and will be a great addition to our program."
As a sophomore at Samford, Wagner competed in six tournaments, including the Rebel Intercollegiate and Lady Bulldog Individual. She posted a career-low score of 69 at the Samford Intercollegiate, tying for 14th place overall.
During the 2014-15 season, Wagner saw action in five tournaments for the Bulldogs. She placed 30th at the Samford Intercollegiate with a 54-hole score of 242 (81-85-76), marking the highest finish of her freshman season. She also played in the Fed Ex Memphis Intercollegiate, Chris Banister Golf Classic, USA Women's Invitational and Rebel Intercollegiate.
Wagner, a product of Gray, Tenn., will join the Big Orange this fall.

Haley Wagner is on record as one of the longest driving women golfers in Tennessee. Additionally, she carded an impressive even-par 72 on day one of the 15th-annual Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open Pro-Am. The score proved to be the third-lowest of the round.
She earned 2013 TSSAA Class AAA accolades at Willow Brook Golf Club and tallied a fourth-place individual finish with a 36-hole score of 153 (80-73).Wagner was also named 2013 Co-Player of the Year for the All-Big 7 Conference.
At Daniel Boone High School, Wagner starred as a multi-sport athlete, playing softball in addition to golf. She was named an All-Conference First Team member for the Lady Blazers in 2012.
She is the daughter of Denny and Mary Wagner.
