McCalley Niday Inducted Into GA Aquatic Hall of Fame

Former Tennessee diving great Lauryn McCalley Niday was inducted into Georgia Aquatic Hall of Fame on Saturday night.
Niday, a native of Moultrie, Georgia, dove for Tennessee from 2002-05 where she was a five-time All-American who excelled on the springboard. She was named the 2005 NCAA Woman of the Year.
During her career, Niday recorded four NCAA top-eight finishes on the springboard, notably placing fifth on the 1-meter springboard in 2003. She was the SEC Freshman Diver of the Year in 2002.
Out of the pool, Niday was one of the academic leaders in the athletic department. She was a CoSIDA Academic All-American and a recipient of the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete Post-Graduate Scholarship. She served as president of the student-athlete advisory committee.
She graduated with a degree in microbiology from Tennessee and was a top student at Georgia's pharmacy school. She has worked as a pharmacist in Moultrie.
