Davis-White Wins 200m Gold at NACAC U23 Championships

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador -- Tennessee's Kali Davis-White won gold in the women's 200 meters on Sunday at the IX NACAC U23 Championships at Jorge "El Magico" Gonzalez National Stadium.
Competing for Jamaica, Davis-White won the women's 200-meter final with a time of 22.66 (+2.6). She had qualified for the final by winning the second heat of prelims with a time of 23.21 (-0.7).
Tennessee student-athletes combined for three gold medals and one silver at the NACAC U23s. On Saturday, Chelsea Blaase took gold for Team USA in the women's 10,000 meters with a NACAC U23 record time of 35:30.87 and Christian Coleman earned a gold medal for the Americans as the second leg of the winning men's 4x100 (38.63). Davis-White earned silver for Jamaica as the second leg of the women's 4x100 (43.63) on Saturday.
Both Davis-White and Coleman will compete at next month's 2016 Rio Olympics. Davis-White will represent Jamaica in the women's 200 meters and Coleman has been named to Team USA as a member of its men's 4x100.
