EUGENE, Ore. -- Chelsea Blaase earned her sixth-straight All-American honors and Felicia Brown, Felecia Majors and Tennessee's 4x100 advanced to finals on Thursday at the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Fields.
Blaase took fifth place with a time of 32:49.03 in a very fast women's 10,000-meter final. She ran with the front pack for the entire race and earned First Team All-American honors as a top-eight finisher. Blaase has earned All-American honors in six-straight sport seasons and seven overall (2014 indoor, 2014 cross country, 2015 indoor, 2015 outdoor, 2015 cross country, 2016 indoor, 2016 outdoor).
Brown advanced to Saturday's women's 200-meter final with the No. 3 semifinal time of 22.68 (-0.5). Tennessee has never had a national champion in the women's outdoor 200 meters. Majors ran 52.29 in the women's 400-meter semifinals to punch her ticket to Saturday's final with the seventh-best time. She has now earned All-American honors in four sport seasons (2014 indoor, 2014 outdoor, 2016 indoor, 2016 outdoor). Tennessee's only NCAA champion in the outdoor 400 meters is DeeDee Trotter, who won in 2004 in 50.32.
Tennessee's women's 4x100 of Brown, Kali Davis-White, Majors and Maia McCoy ran the seventh-fastest time in the semifinals with a 43.66 to advance to Saturday's final. This is UT's first women's 4x100 to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championship final since 2009 when the quartet of Celriece Law, Ashley Harris, Ellen Wortham and Lynne Layne took seventh place in 44.05.
UT's women's 4x400 of Lenysse Dyer, Layla White, Davis-White and Majors ran 3:32.88, finishing 10th.
