Thursday Night at the SECs

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- After Thursday's morning prelims, the Vols qualified a pair representatives in the championship finals for two races at the SEC Swimming and Diving Championships.
Amanda Carner and Lauren Driscoll will race in the final heat of the 400-yard individual medley. Madeline Banic and Harper Bruens will both be in the finals of the 100 free.
With women's 3-meter diving still on the way, here's a look at this morning's highlights:
WOMEN'S 400 IM

A Final: Amanda Carner (4:07.68), Lauren Driscoll (4:08.68)
B Final: Colleen Callahan (4:09.84)
C Final: Morgan Dickson (4:17.73)
Tennessee opened up the morning prelims by qualifying a pair to the championship final: Amanda Carner and Lauren Driscoll. Carner took fourth last night in the 200 IM. She had the second-fastest 400 IM prelim time, Driscoll had the fifth. Colleen Callahan was just a fraction shy of qualifying for the A final, swimming a career-best 4:09.84 to post the ninth-fastest qualifying time.

A Final: Sam McHugh (3:44.36)
Sam McHugh had the fastest qualifying time in prelims, swimming a season-best 3:44.36. He was fourth in this event last year. McHugh has now raced five individual events at SECs and made the finals in all five.

A Final: Madeline Banic (52.05), Harper Bruens (52.16)
B Final: Anna DeMonte (52.86)
C Final: Michelle Cefal (53.73)
Madeline Banic was just off her career-best in the 100 fly to log the third-fastest qualifying time in the prelims in 52.05. Harper Bruens recorded a career-best 52.16 -- fifth-fastest time in program history -- to join Banic in the championship. It will be their second championship final of the meet, having competed in the 50 freestyle last night.
Anna DeMonte just missed the cut for the championship final. The senior swam a career best 52.86, the sixth-fastest time in program history and the ninth-fastest time in the field this morning. Michelle Cefal will swim in the C final (53.73).
MEN'S 100 BUTTERFLY

B Final: Ryan Coetzee (47.04)
C Final: Tyler Mills (47.30), Chris Sadsad (47.87)
Ryan Coetzee swam a career-best 47.04 to reach the B final and improve his standing to seventh on the Tennessee top-10 list. Senior Chris Sadsad qualified for his first career SEC final, reaching the C heat in 47.87. Mills made his third career final.
WOMEN'S 200 FREESTYLE
Who's Swimming Tonight?
B Final: Micah Bohon (1:46.74), Mary Griffith (1:47.22)
Micah Bohon made her second individual final session of the meet after reaching the finals of the 200 IM on Wednesday. Mary Griffith is back in an individual final, grabbing the 16th-fastest time.
MEN'S 200 FREESTYLE
Who's Swimming Tonight?
B Final: Sean Lehane (1:35.74)
C Final: Joey Reilman (1:36.40), Gustav Aberg Lejdstrom (1:36.47)
Sean Lehane is back in a final of the 200 freestyle after posting a season-best 1:35.74. Freshman Joey Reilman is in his first career final, joining senior Gustav Aberg Lejdstrom in the C final.
WOMEN'S 3-METER SPRINGBOARD

A Final: Rachel Rubadue (332.50), Sarah Chewning (327.30)
Tennessee's divers provided a late afternoon boost to point-scoring chances this afternoon. Freshman Rachel Rubadue recorded her second SEC championship final in as many events, scoring the third-highest total. Senior Sarah Chewning qualified for her first final with a career-best list of 327.30.
