February 15, 2016 | Men's Golf
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- VFL Chris Paisley collected his first top 15 finish of the 2016 season after placing in a tie for 14th at the European Tour’s Tshwane Open in Waterkloof, South Africa.
Paisley shot two rounds under par, including a final round 68 that propelled him up the leaderboard. He finished 1-under (70-69-72-68—279).
Despite struggling to make the cut to open this season, his strong performance at the Tshwane Open replicates the success he had on the European Tour in 2015. He earned seven top 40 finishes, including a third-place finish at the BMW International Open. He ranked 16th on the European Tour money list in 2015.
Through five tournaments in the 2016 season, Paisley is averaging 71.92 strokes per round.
This season marks Paisley’s third season on the European Tour circuit. In addition to the 2015 season, he competed on the circuit in 2013.
Paisley, a Vol from 2005-2009, collected 13 top 10 finishes during his time on Rocky Top, including first-place finishes at the 2007 Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate and the 2008 Arizona Invitational.
