Vols add Kristin Engle to the 2017 Signing Class

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee women's golf program added Kristin Engle to the 2017 class on Wednesday, Nov. 9th.
"I'm thrilled that Kristin has chosen to sign with Tennessee," said Head Coach Judi Pavon. " She is passionate about Tennessee and passionate about golf and will be a great addition to our program. She is an extremely hard worker and I'm expecting her to jump in and play right away."
Engle officially signed a NLI to join the Vols roster as the first-ranked player in Kentucky and the tenth-ranked player nationally in the 2017 class according to the Junior Golf Scoreboard Rankings. She is the 2016 AJGA City of London Champion and the 2016 AJGA Owensboro Runner-Up. Engle also placed runner-up at the 2016 PGA Junior Series.
"I chose Tennessee because of the great coaching staff, excellent practice facilities and it is a nationally top-ranked program," stated Engle.
At Barbourville High School in Barbourville, Ky., Engle posted a 71.6 average as a senior and carded a career-low 68 (30 on the back nine) in PGA Junior Series event. She also shot seven-under in two 54-hole events.
The Kentucky native has been the Kentucky Class "A" Region Individual Champion three out of the last four years (2013, 2015 and 2016). In 2015, she was also the Kentucky Class "A" State Champion and earned All-State and All-Region honors.
She will enroll and begin her collegiate career in the fall of 2017.

Kristin Engle has led Barbourville High School to back-to-back state championships (2015 and 2016) and a Region 9 championship in 2015.
In addition to golf, she is involved with choir and has earned Top Student Awards in Integrated Science, Honors Algebra I and Honors Geometry.
Engle has a younger brother, Tyler, and she is the daughter of Chad and Patty Engle.
