Ford, Goss Advance in Q-School

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - As the final tournaments of 2016 are being played, Tennessee Men's Golf has two VFL, Charlie Ford and Oliver Goss, playing in Q-School on the European Tour and Web.com Tour.
This week, former Vol Charlie Ford will compete in the 2016 European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage in Girona, Spain. The tournament begins Saturday, Nov. 12th and goes through Thursday, Nov. 17th. Ford placed third in Stage Two with a 15-under 273.
Also competing this week, VFL Oliver Goss is playing in the second stage of the Web.com Tour Q-School. He is currently tied for first place with two rounds left to play in the Texas qualifier. Goss carded 65 and 66 to begin the third round with a 36-hole total of 132 (-12). The top 19 players will advance to the Final Qualifying Stage in Winter Garden, Fla.

2016 European Tour Qualifying School Stage Two: 64-72-66-71--273 (-15), 3rd Place
In Stage Two of Q-School, Ford placed third with a 15-under 273 at the Panoramica qualifier (par 72, 7,030 yards). He carded 19 birdies and two eagles throughout the 72-hole touranment. He was one of 18 players to advance to the final stage from Panoramica.
The 2016 European Tour Qualifying School Final Stage will be held at the PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Spain on Saturday, Nov. 12th through Thursday, Nov. 17th. It will be played over 108 holes (6 rounds) of stroke play. A field of 156 competitors will play 2 rounds on both the Stadium and Tour Courses at PGA Catalunya Resort. After 72 holes, the field will be cut to the leading 70 players and ties who will then play two further rounds on the Stadium Course.
At the conclusion of 108 holes, the leading 25 players (and those players tied on the final qualifying place score) will be ranked according to score. All players who tie for 25th place or better will be eligible for Category 17 membership of the European Tour (and Category 5 membership of the Challenge Tour) for the 2017 season. The remainder of those making the cut will be eligible for Category 22 membership of the European Tour (and Category 9 membership of the Challenge Tour) for the 2017 season. Players failing to make the cut will be eligible for Category 15 membership of the Challenge Tour for the 2017 season.
Ford is scheduled to tee off the Stadium Course at 4:15 a.m. ET on Saturday, Nov. 12. Live scoring will be available at EuropeanTour.com.

Oliver Goss
2016 Web.com Tour Qualifying Stage Two: 65-67--132 (-12), Tied 1st Place
Two rounds into Stage Two of Q-School, Goss is tied for first place at 12-under-par. He carded six birdies and one eagle in the first round and added seven more birdies to his total in the second. Goss will tee off the third round of the 72-hole tournament at 1:00 p.m. ET today (Friday, Nov. 11).

In total, 19 qualifying positions & ties will advance from the Texas qualifier to the Final Qualifying Stage which will be held at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge in Winter Garden, Fla., on December 8-11.
