NASHVILLE -- Tennessee Basketball's preseason timeline crossed a major checkpoint on Wednesday as head coach Rick Barnes and seniors Robert Hubbs III and Lew Evans made the jaunt to Nashville for SEC Basketball Media Day.
The group made a short plane trip west to the Music City early on Wednesday morning, then proceeding to Bridgestone Arena--the home of this year's media day event as well as the site of the 2017 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament, and a non-conference tilt between the Vols and Gonzaga on Dec. 18. In a two-hour blur Barnes, Hubbs and Evans made their way through a series of interviews, social media interactions and a live appearance on the SEC Network show SEC Now.
The team's lone seniors, Hubbs and Evans will lead Tennessee into the new season on Nov. 3 when UT hosts Slippery Rock in its lone exhibition game. The regular season begins on Nov. 11 when in-state foe Chattanooga visits Thompson-Boling Arena.
