JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. -- On Sunday, the Tennessee men's golf team finished the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate tied for thirteenth place. The Vols shot a five-over 293 to finish the weekend with a total of 874 (292-289-293 , +10).

The Volunteers were carried by the stellar play of junior Lorenzo Scalise. The Milan, Italy, native shot under par every round (68-67-71--206, -10) en route to a top-five finish.
Fellow upperclassman Jack Smith, who competed as an individual for Tennessee, carded sub-par rounds on Friday and Saturday and 75 on Sunday for a 54-hole total of 213 (-3). Smith finished the tournament tied for 20th place.
Hunter Wolcott posted 69 in the third round to move up 25 spots in the individual standings and tie for 44th place. He took 76 and 75 strokes in the previous two rounds.
Newcomer Brayden Garrison shot two-over in the final round to total 230 (+14) in the tournament and tie for 74th place.
Both Rhys Nevin-Wharton and Nicklas Mattner carded 79 to finish the tournament tied for 65th and 80th place, respectively.
No. 17 Virginia claimed the team title after shooting a new Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate record of 829 (-35).
Individually, Charles Huntzinger of Penn State earned the medalist honors after battling it out down the stretch. He won by two strokes and tied the tournament record (203, -13).
Tennessee will be back in action on Oct. 30 through Nov. 1 when the Vols travel to Kiawah Island, S.C., for the Invitational at the Ocean Course.
