Vols Start Season at Cardinal Kickoff

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The No. 15 Tennessee women’s golf team will open the 2015-2016 season on Tuesday, September 8. The Vols will make the trip to John’s Creek, Ga., for the 36-hole Cardinal Kickoff hosted by the University of Louisville.
The 2015 Cardinal Kickoff will feature four teams, including ranked SEC rival No. 27 Georgia Bulldogs.
At last season’s Cardinal Kickoff, six Vols were entered as individuals and all placed in the top 15 with VFL AJ Newell leading the group with a fourth place finish.
This year Tennessee will compete as a team with one individual also competing. Veterans Anna Newell, Lucia Polo, Blakesly Warren and Teleri Hughes and newcomer Shannon Brooks make up the Vols line-up. Freshman Allison Herring will play as Tennessee's individual.
The 2015 Cardinal Kickoff held at the Highlands, one of two courses at the Atlanta Athletic Club, will have an 8:20 a.m. shotgun start.
