Men's Golf Opens 2015-16 Season Friday

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee men’s golf squad opens its 2015-2016 season Friday as the team travels to Dalton, Georgia, to compete in the annual Carpet Collegiate Classic Sept. 11-13.
Tennessee’s first round lineup features two seniors, Chad Merzbacher and Michael Nagy; two juniors, Juan Carlos Serrano Guevara and Jack Smith; and sophomore Lorenzo Scalise. Senior Michael Monroe will compete as an individual in Friday’s first round.
Monroe will be the first Volunteer to tee off at 8:30 a.m. ET. The five remaining individuals tee off between 8:52 a.m. ET and 9:36 a.m. ET. All Tennessee golfers will start on the 10th hole.
Merzbacher finished last season’s Carpet Capital Collegiate with a team-high 217 over the three-day event, finishing tied for 29th.
The Farm Golf Club plays as a 7,012-yard course with a par of 72. In last year’s event, Vol golfers posted six rounds at or below par. Jack Smith shot a team-low 67 in the second round.
