Popson Tied for 11th Place at PHC Classic

Knoxville, Tenn. -- Former Vol golfer Erica Popson participated in the inaugural PHC Classic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on July 31 through August 2. Part of the Symetra Tour, the Classic featured the top 144 up-and-coming professionals from the United States and around the world.
In opening round play at Brown Deer Park Golf Course, Popson posted 68, giving her a two shot lead going into the second day. She was one of five players who broke par in 30 miles-per-hour gusts during the round.
Popson proceeded to card five birdies and one bogey in round two, matching her day one performance. The four-under round gave her a share of the lead with Lee Lopez who posted six-under.
In the final 18 holes of the tournament, Popson was unable to maintain the momentum from her first two rounds. She put up one birdie for a score of 82. She finished the tournament at two-over and tied for 11th place.
The Symetra Tour continues on August 10-16 with the 54-hole W. B. Mason Championship at Thorny Lea Golf Club.
