Lady Vols Fourth in Preseason AP Poll

KNOXVILLE -- The Associated Press released the 2015-16 preseason poll this week and Tennessee will enter the 2015-16 campaign ranked fourth.
The Lady Vols return nine letterwinners and three starters from a team that went 30-6 a year ago and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight. Tennessee finished the 2014-15 campaign ranked sixth in the AP poll. They'll begin the upcoming season behind No. 1 and defending NCAA champion UConn (800), South Carolina (758) and Notre Dame (714).
The Lady Vols received 711 votes and will play Carson-Newman in an exhibition game on Nov. 9 and host Central Arkansas in the season opener on Nov. 15.
The Lady Vols were picked fourth in the USA Today Coaches Poll released last week. Tennessee received 689 votes which ranked behind UConn (800), South Carolina (757) and Notre Dame (719).
During the 2015-16 season, UT is slated to face 10 teams ranked in the preseason poll: South Carolina, Notre Dame, No. 10 Oregon State, No. 11 Mississippi State, No. 12 Texas, No. 13 Texas A&M, No. 16 Stanford, No. 18 Kentucky, No. 23 Syracuse and No. 25 Chattanooga.
Tennessee also is scheduled to play the following schools receiving votes: Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Missouri.
