COLUMBIA, Mo.-- The Tennessee swimming and diving program returns to dual match competition this weekend with meets against Missouri on Thursday and Virginia on Friday.
The Vols will open SEC play Thursday against Missouri at noon. It is the first of six SEC dual meets for the season Tennessee.
Tennessee follows that with a meet against Virginia on Friday. Diving is scheduled for noon and swimming at 3 p.m.
The UT men and women both opened the year with victories over UNC Wilmington in September. The team was back in action last week for the Orange and White Meet at Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center, which the Orange team won by one point.
This weekend represents Tennessee's first action against NCAA-scoring opponents. On the men's side, Missouri was 11th and Virginia finished 33rd at last year's NCAA meet. For the women, Virginia took fifth and Missouri placed 14th.
Last year, the Tennessee men finished fourth at the SEC Championships and 14th at the NCAA championships. The UT women were fourth at SECs and 11th at NCAAs.
