Lady Vols In Second Place

TEAM RESULTS | INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
WOLCOTT, Colo. - The Tennessee women's golf team shot one of their best rounds of the fall season to finish the day in second place with a team total of 285 (-3) at the GolfWeek Conference Challenge.The Lady Vols were led by three individuals shooting at or under par in the first round. Senior AJ Newell and sophomore Hannah Pietila both shot two-under par at 70 and tied for second place. Freshman Anna Newell shot an even 72 to end the day and sits in a ninth-place tie.
Blakesly Warren rounded out the counting scores shooting one-over par for a 13th-place tie. Sophomore Lucia Polo added a 74 (+2) to the field.
"Today was a good day," head coach Judi Pavon said. "We didn't get off to a great start but had a delay for a storm, and they came back really solid. The greens are very tough out here, and they handled them very well."
Tennessee's second place standing is just one stroke behind the field's leader, Pepperdine. In the individual race, Tatiana Wijaya and Alina Ching of Pepperdine lead the way.
