Lady Vols In 10th After Round Two

WILMINGTON, N.C. -- The Lady Vols concluded the second round of the Landfall Tradition in 10th place after shooting a second consecutive round of 292 (+4). Lucia Polo and Anna Newell both shot rounds of 72 (E) to lead Tennessee.
Head coach Judi Pavon saw the Lady Vols drop two spots to 10th place after round two. Three golfers, Polo, Anna Newell and Hannah Pietila, improved their scores from round one.
A.J. Newell shot one-over par to finish the day in a tie for fourth place at three-under par. Sophomore Polo posted an even par round with a score of 72 and ended the day in a tie for 18th place. Anna Newell also shot a 72 and finished in a tie for 30th place.
Pietila rounded out the Lady Vols scoring with a round of 77 (+5). Mason Chen shot six-over par 78.
Wake Forest and Oklahoma State share a tie of first place after day two. The Demon Deacons posted a score of 1-over par, while the Cowgirls shot 3-under par to share the lead at one-under par. Ashley Holder of UCF holds the individual lead at 7-under par after rounds of 67 (-5) and 70 (-2).
The Lady Vols will be back in action tomorrow morning for the final round. Tennessee will tee off at 8:45 a.m. (ET) alongside Duke and North Carolina. Live stats will be available at golfstat.com and will be posted to the tournament central at the conclusion of each round.
