KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- The past two weeks have seen one current Vol and four VFLs represent the program across the globe. Check out scores from the Mexico Open, Q-School Qualifying and the Perth International here.
During an open week, current sophomore Juan Carlos Serrano Guevara traveled to Mexico City to compete as an amateur in the Mexico Open on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
The Mexico native competed at Club de Golf Chapultepec and shot rounds of 2-over par and even par, respectively, but failed to make the cut. He recorded six birdies, six bogeys and one double-bogey to finish in a tie for 60th place at 2-over par.
Three former Vols, David Holmes, Rick Lamb and Philip Pettitt, all advanced to the second stage of the PGA's Web.com Tour Q-School Qualifying.
Holmes competed at The Standard Golf Club in Johns Creek, Georgia. He shot 68-72-68-73--281 to finish tied for 22nd place at 7-under par.
Lamb posted a top 10 finish at The Woodlands Country Club in The Woodlands, Texas. The Indiana native posted rounds of 71-72-68-69 to finish 5-over par and in a tie for 10th place.
Pettitt recorded a top 25 finish in Nebraska City, Nebraska. The Murfreesboro product bounced back from an opening round 77 to finish 5-over par (77-75-69--221) and in a tie for 16th place.
Oliver Goss returned to his home country for the first time as a pro on Wednesday. Goss is competing in the Perth International in New South Wales. The Australia native posted an opening round 68 (-4) to place himself in a tie for 14th place. His second round will begin at 6:50 p.m. (ET) Thursday evening.
